Join Panhandle PBS for a celebratory open house
Panhandle PBS has been excited to celebrate its 35th anniversary this year, including special programming and activities highlighting its service to the Texas Panhandle since 1988.
The public is welcome to attend a Panhandle PBS Open House on Thursday, August 1 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at 2408 S. Jackson St. to help celebrate and learn more about the station. Activities will include station tours, local content updates, PBS highlight reels, green screen demonstrations, photo ops, and a chance to win prizes. Cake and punch will also be served. The event is open to the public and “come and go.”
Licensed to Amarillo College, Panhandle PBS provides a gathering place for intelligent, trusted community engagement to educate, enlighten, entertain, and empower the people of the Texas Panhandle. The station signed on the air on August 29, 1988. Today its “more than TV” approach includes national PBS and local Panhandle PBS content on three channels (KACV HD, PBS KIDS 24/7, and Create TV) as well as free community outreach events, film screenings, public issue forums, arts performances, children’s educational gatherings, and more.
