Mission Statement

Panhandle PBS provides a gathering place for intelligent, trusted community engagement to educate, enlighten, entertain and empower the people of the Texas Panhandle and the world.

The Panhandle’s Public Television Station

Panhandle PBS began operation in August 1988 as the Panhandle’s PBS member station. Licensed to Amarillo College, the station extends the community college philosophy of improving the quality of life for all residents. Panhandle PBS operates digital channels 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 — 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In addition to providing quality PBS Programming, Panhandle PBS has a long history of producing local programs that address timely concerns and celebrate the region. KACV has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Edward R. Murrow and Barbara Jordan citations.

Panhandle PBS broadcasts on Channel 2.1 in digital High Definition carrying PBS programming, Channel 2.2 carrying PBS Kids 24/7 and Channel 2.3 carring Create TV.
