November 19, 2020 marks the 28th Annual National Philanthropy Day Celebration. This event, hosted by Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), honors local individuals, businesses, and organizations who make an invaluable impact on the Texas Panhandle.
Traditionally, honorees, nominators, friends, and family gather at the Amarillo Civic Center to enjoy lunch and a presentation of the incredible stories of those who selflessly give their time, energy, heart, and resources for the good of our local communities.
This year, with a partnership with Panhandle PBS and support by Captrust, the National Philanthropy Day Celebration, Leading through Giving, will be aired on PBS as well as FaceBook Livestream.
“CAPTRUST is honored to be the title sponsor for the PBS broadcast of the National Philanthropy Day awards presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Texas Plains Chapter. At CAPTRUST, our mission is to enrich the lives of our clients, colleagues, and communities through sound financial advice, integrity, and a commitment to service beyond expectation. My work in the Panhandle, with both institutions and individuals, is extremely rewarding to me personally because I am able to give back to the community where I was raised. On behalf of my 700 colleagues across the U.S., thank you for this opportunity and know that we all strongly value the partnership with the community and the AFP TX Plains Chapter and Panhandle PBS,” said Lisa Ivie Miller, principal | financial advisor of CAPTRUST.
Viewers of all ages and walks of life will undoubtedly find inspiration in the stories of the philanthropist and people who they passionately serve.
2020 has been a year of unforeseen obstacles and in normal West Texas fashion, the people of the Panhandle have stepped up to meet the needs of our community. The stories that reflect a true Heart of Philanthropy will be a special part of this year's event, made possible by Amarillo National Bank.
The program will air on PBS on November 19 at 7 p.m., November 20 at midnight, and November 22 at 4 p.m.
