But first: Grammy-winning hip-hop star T-Pain WILL NOT perform with Afroman on Saturday at Azteca Music Hall, 500 N. Farm-to-Market Road 1921.

The rapper, responding Thursday night to an Amarillo fan, said he never signed a contract with Wild 104.3, which had been promoting the concert. 

"I just got off the phone with my team," he further tweeted. "There was never a contract issued for this show. We got an offer. We didn’t like it. They went up a little. We still didn’t like it. Found a better offer in Miami. I never signed anything nor agreed to anything regarding this show."

He went on: "So them saying I breached a contract that never existed is not only a f---ing lie but defamation of my name and they WILL hear from me. If I’m sorry for anything it’s that y’all have to go through this. I don’t know how they sold tickets to a show that was never happening."

Wild 104 responded on Facebook: "We apologize and are saddened that T-Pain has made it clear he is NOT coming to Amarillo due to apparently a miscommunication and our MONEY is not good enough."

They continued, posting photos of receipts for wire transfers totaling about $27,000: "Now if this was a confusion between agents and managers we just would like to tell you that our door is still open and our stage is still available for you to rock it...If not can you KINDLY PLEASE return our $22,000 that your team has accepted for the deposit and the extra $5,000 you wanted for plane ticket fees out of Miami. If your not aware of this money then maybe you need to have a meeting with your TEAM!"

Promoter Rap Soul Entertainment, in a post on the concert event page, tried to offer hope that the show could be rescheduled: "THE BALL IS IN T-PAINS COURT HE HAS ALL THE MONEY AND IF HE WANTS TO RESCHEDULE GREAT! IF NOT WE WILL BRING AN EVEN BIGGER SHOW TO MAKE UP FOR THE BS! ITS LOOKING LIKE THIS SHOW WILL BE RESCHEDULED JUST WAITING ON T-PAIN CONFIRMATION." 

The rapper denied being paid, though: "I don’t know who has their money but it f--- sure ain’t me. We never signed a contract and trust me they weren’t even offering enough money for me to even wanna go through them playing with my money. Either somebody finessed the f--- out of them or they’re finessing you guys."

In its cancelation notice, WIld 104.3 said Afroman will still perform, and refunds will be available. (UPDATE: Afroman's performance is postponed "until everything gets straightened out," station managment said in a Facebook message to me at 10:38 a.m.)

UPDATE (11:50 a.m.): Rap Soul Entertainment now says T-Pain will perform in Amarillo at a date to be named later.

In a new post on the concert event page, the promoter said: "T PAIN WILL DO A VIDEO DROP CONFIRMING. IF U PURCHASED TICKETS FOR FEB 3RD BRING THAT SAME TICKET TO THE NEXT SHOW. OR IF YOU WANT A REFUND WILL WILL HONOR YOUR REQUEST. APOLOGIES FOR THE MISUNDERSTANDING AND MISCOMMUNICATION!"

But the rapper still says he's not coming.

"Nah this ain’t good enough. They went into full detail when they were telling the city I took their money and breached a non existent contract so now I want full detail on how they f---ed up and slandered my name with no right to. I’m not coming until I get a full apology fr"

UPDATE (12:32 p.m.): Rap Soul Entertainment has issued another statement.
