A museum as a place to learn? Sure. But how about as a place to chill and maybe down a brew or two?

That's what Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum staff hope visitors will want to do Saturday at the museum's second Crafts & Drafts festival.

The party runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. July 15 at the museum, 2503 Fourth Ave. in Canyon.

"We're having this event as a way for people to casually interact with the museum, especially if it's not a place they've been in a long time or a place they normally think to hang out at on a Saturday," said Samantha Biffle, the museum's programs coordinator. "We want people to come hang out with us."

Attendees will taste beers from Big Texan Brewery and Long Wooden Spoon Brewery, along with Budweiser craft beers, ciders and white wine. Crave Factory, Imperial Taproom, Ribs N More, La Fiesta Grande and Joe's Catering will provide beer-themed dishes at various food stations.

Partiers can make crafts with Spirited Expressions, play beer-themed trivia and beer bingo, and tour PPHM on a "tipsy tour."

Tickets are $50 for ages 21 and older only. Reservations are requested by Thursday, but tickets will be available at the door.

Call 806-651-2244.
