"American Experience | Reagan: Lifeguard" airs tonight

Ronald Reagan was the 40th president of the United States, a former actor who passionately stood for lower taxes and less government. When he finished his second term in office in 1988, he was one of the most popular and controversial presidents of the century.

“American Experience | Reagan: Lifeguard” follows the former president’s life growing up in the midwest, his childhood triumphs and troubles, and the beginning of his political career.
