June 2023: Aunt EEk's

Email share

Aunt EEk’s Books & Curiosities is a neighborhood bookstore that opened in 2021 on Historic Route 66. Coming out of the pandemic, owner Angela Workman wanted to open a place to encourage and incubate learning, sharing, and community. The location in San Jacinto was chosen to provide intellectual sustenance to a neighborhood in need of more opportunities for literacy and education. Every child 15 years and younger is offered any one book in our youth area free of charge every time they visit. Being able to choose their own book and know that it is theirs to keep helps foster a love for reading that hopefully will last a lifetime. Open Mic events are held on the first Thursday of every month to allow people of all ages, backgrounds, and talents to share space and encouragement with others. In this event, as well as any other day, Aunt EEk’s is an open and safe space for people to be who they are without fear. Aunt EEk’s is also the home of Lena Von Vintage specializing in vintage clothing and accessories. Local artists and makers are featured in the shop as well. Aunt EEk’s is so proud to be a PBS underwriter and to help keep Antiques Roadshow on the air to educate, entertain, and keep people interested in the history and stories that go along with the treasures that surround us every single day.
