Ink Life tattoo and music celebration to return Friday

Ink addicts and metal heads will converge on downtown Amarillo this weekend for the return of the Ink Life Tattoo and Music Festival.

Nationally renowned tattoo artists will work alongside Amarillo's best, offering experienced human canvases and newbies alike the chance to get ink at the tour's seventh stop in town.

The festival is open from noon to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 9:15 p.m. Sunday in the Amarillo Civic Center Complex North Exhibit Hall, 401 S. Buchanan St. Watch out for major construction on Buchanan Street in downtown Amarillo — either add travel time, or seek an alternate route.

Tickets are $25 for the day or $40 for a weekend pass, plus fees. VIP tickets are $50 for the day or $75 for the weekend.

Tattoo artists will compete for prizes during the show, and attendees can volunteer to be canvases for Sunday's King of the Ink contest.
