A festive, symphonic holiday tradition will be unwrapped again Dec. 16.

The Amarillo Symphony's Happy Holiday Pops concerts will be performed at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 16 in the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts, 500 S. Buchanan St.

The concerts, featuring Amarillo Master Chorale and guest conductor Steven Jarvi, will be stocked with merry favorites like Jingle BellsCarol of the BellsSleigh Ride, selections from The Nutcracker and more.

"When we started this program last year, we envisioned it becoming a new Amarillo holiday tradition," said Corey Cowart, the symphony's executive director. "We're well on our way."

Jarvi last appeared with the symphony for a Broadway pops concert in November 2016.

"We’re excited to have Steven Jarvi back on the podium for this program. He was last with us a little over a year ago, and both the orchestra and the audience loved him," Cowart said.

Panhandle PBS filmed last year's inaugural concert and will broadcast it several times this month.

Amarillo Symphony: Happy Holiday Pops premieres at 7 p.m. Dec. 21. It will encore at midnight Dec. 24, 7 p.m. Dec. 25 and midnight Dec. 27.
