Two new drama series premiering this Sunday

This Sunday, two new drama series will premiere on Panhandle PBS.

First, at 8:00 p.m., everyone is left with the question of “who has done what to whom?” in the premiere of Flesh and Blood on MASTERPIECE.

Lust, greed, wrath, envy and pride are just some of the deadly sins that plague a seemingly happy family in this mystery-thriller starring Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter, Vera Drake) and Francesca Annis (Reckless, Cranford), who play close neighbors cast into a generational psychodrama.

Flesh and Blood follows the story of recently widowed Vivien, her three adult children, Helen, Jake and Natalie, the new man in her life, Mark, and Doug Lineham, the detective who is tasked with untangling the mystery surrounding all of them.

Vivien invites her children to their seaside childhood home to announce that she has a new man in her life: Mark, a retired surgeon who is widowed as well. Each of her children has a different opinion of Mark based on their own situations, but one question remains consistent: is he hiding something?

Tune in to find out. Flesh and Blood, a series of cliffhanging episodes, premieres Sunday, October 4 at 8:00 p.m. on Panhandle PBS.

Then, directly after Flesh and Blood is the premiere of COBRA, a clever and action-packed political drama and a deeply human story of a nation and its leaders in crisis – a tale that is increasingly relevant to the world we live in today.

COBRA follows a team made up of Britain’s leading experts, crisis contingency planners and senior politicians through their missteps, conflicts, friendships, drama and more as they face the threat of a geomagnetic solar storm.

COBRA premieres this Sunday, October 4 at 9:00 p.m. on Panhandle PBS, and will also be available for streaming on PBS.org and the PBS Video App.
