The Panhandle Gives is an annual fundraising initiative for non-profit organizations in the Texas Panhandle. The event, hosted by the Amarillo Area Foundation (AAF) typically begins the Monday before Thanksgiving and ends on Giving Tuesday, the global day of giving. This initiative was established in an effort to support and empower nonprofit organizations across the 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. In 2021, $5,169,904 were raised.
Organizations that participate receive 100% of the donations raised through The Panhandle Gives. Additionally, organizations that raise a minimum of $250 are eligible to receive a percentage of the Amplification Fund, a pool of money made up of donations from foundations, corporate sponsors and individual donors. When you give through The Panhandle Gives, your donation goes further.
Since 1988, Panhandle PBS has aimed to serve the Texas Panhandle by providing valuable local and national programming, children’s programming and learning resources, community events and more. Programs such as “PBS NewsHour,” “Frontline” and “Washington Week” keep you updated with the latest and most reliable reporting. “Masterpiece” programming is a Sunday night favorite for many. Locally produced programs like “The Little Things” and “The Handle: Living While Black” shine a light on issues that impact people in our area. Your generous support for these resources makes strong, relevant and diversified programming possible.
