Panhandle PBS to broadcast "Frame of Mind"

For its 30th season, KERA’s long-running independent film series “Frame of Mind” will be distributed to PBS stations across Texas, including Panhandle PBS.

“Frame of Mind” is a series that showcases independent films about Texas from Texan filmmakers. Panhandle PBS will air eight episodes this season:

  • “Love in Unexpected Places”:“Honk” and “Down Home” highlight surprising and delightful connections.
  • “The Texas Life”: In this compilation of shorts, we look at music, food, and other quirky things that make Texas, Texas.
  • “Family Stories”:We all have family and the drama that comes with them. These four stories take a deep dive into what leaves scars and what bonds us.
  • “Crossing Borders”:Texas life, culture and history is intertwined with its border with Mexico. These 4 films show different versions of how the border has affected Texas.
  • “The Artistic Spirit of Texas”:Through dance, music and sculpture, Texas filmmakers show their unique vision of art.
  • “Figuring it Out”:During difficult times, these fascinating characters figure a way out.
  • “Reel Texas Stories”:Texas is known for its characters. Meet a few in this compilation.
  • “Myth of a Colorblind France” by Alan Govenar: For more than a century, African American artists, authors, musicians, and others have traveled to Paris to liberate themselves from the racism of the United States. This film interweaves the thoughts of Black artists residing there today with the stories of historical figures who traveled to the country beginning in the 19th century.

 

“Frame of Mind” will premiere at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, on Panhandle PBS.
