The Amarillo League of Women Voters and Panhandle PBS will be hosting a candidate forum for the 2022 Texas gubernatorial election. The League has invited candidates from local races in Potter and Randall counties and Texas Senate District 31 to participate in the forums. Voters will be able to hear the candidates explain their positions on issues concerning the office they are seeking. Candidates from statewide elections have been invited to submit short, prerecorded messages. If time allows, those messages will be included in the broadcast. Otherwise, they will be made available on our website, panhandlePBS.org, and our social media channels.
The League of Women Voters is one of America’s oldest and most trusted non-profit organizations. They work to educate voters across the country on major public policy issues and encourage informed and active participation in government. The Amarillo League of Women Voters frequently hosts events to keep voters informed, encourage voter registration and give candidates an opportunity to speak to their constituents.
The Amarillo League of Women Voters candidate forum will air on Saturday, February 12 at 8 p.m. and again on Sunday, February 13 at 1:30 p.m.
