This July 4th, you can spend the day exploring all the wonders of the state of Texas, from the coolest spots in Austin to the natural beauty of Palo Duro Canyon. The best part? You never have to leave your living room.

This trip across the Lone Star State kicks off at 2:30 p.m. with Nik and Dusty Green in back-to-back episodes of “Two for the Road.” First, join them as they take a closer look at the adventures lurking just beyond their own backyard and experience Big Bend for the first time. Then, venture through the Texas Hill Country and take a tour of all their favorite stops in Austin.

After that, make your way back to the Panhandle at 3:30 p.m. with “Texas Parks & Wildlife” for an archaeological excursion with tribal elders in Palo Duro Canyon State Park., and pay a visit to the prairie dog town in Caprock Canyons State Park at 4.

Next, meet up with “The Daytripper,” Chet Garner, in Lubbock at 4:30 p.m. to explore the Texas High Plains and pay a visit to Texas Tech University. Follow his journey down Route 66 and to see some of the famous roadside attractions, then stop in Amarillo for a visit to Cadillac Ranch, the historic stockyards and even an attempt at eating The Big Texan’s legendary 72-ounce steak.

Wind things down with one final stop in Palo Duro Canyon with a Panhandle PBS original production from 2009, “The Natural Wonder of Texas: Palo Duro Canyon” at 6:00 p.m. You’ll learn about the history of the state park from its prehistoric origins to its relevance today.

Finally, end the day with the 40th anniversary of “A Capitol Fourth” at 7:00 p.m. This year’s show is co-hosted by actor and producer John Stamos and recording artist and actress Vanessa Williams. Though the celebration traditionally takes place on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, this year’s performances have been pre-recorded from locations across the nation. Performers include Patti LaBelle, John Fogerty, The Temptations, Renée Fleming, Trace Adkins, Andy Grammer and more!

You can catch it all right here on Panhandle PBS starting at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 4.
