To support learning through play over the summer months, and combat the “summer learning slide,” Panhandle PBS will be airing Season 2 of CAMP TV in Summer 2021.
CAMP TV is a special “day camp” experience broadcast right to your living room that encourages learning through play. New broadcast episodes will air on Panhandle PBS June 18 – August 22 on Fridays at 2pm and Sundays at 11am with exciting content from zoos, museums, and more.
Head counselor Zach kicks off each episode with a welcome song and announces the day’s theme such as “Snow Day,” “Patterns Day,” “Career Day,” “Mismatched Shoe Day”, and more. Zach guides campers through a variety of playful activities that explore nature, animals, math, science, the arts, movement, storytelling, writing and more.
Kids will learn about gardening, how to beatbox, do silly stretches, investigate a “tornado in a jar” and virtually visit cool locations across the United states. Every episode also includes a storytelling segment that features a different book of the day.
CAMP TV is produced by The WNET Group in New York City. Major funding for Camp TV is provided by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Additional funding is provided by Joan Ganz Cooney and by Pine Tree Foundation.
Panhandle PBS is excited to bring this summer learning and fun right into the homes of thousands of Texas Panhandle residents in our viewing area. For more information, visit panhandlePBS.org/linkstolearning or call 806-371-5479.
