To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the most-watched cooking show on public television, the cast of America’s Test Kitchen is counting down the show’s Top 20 recipes of all time.

In ATK All-Time Best Recipes: 20th Anniversary Special, the cast is keeping the focus on the food that has made the show a fan favorite for 500-plus episodes.

The special will premiere at 8 p.m. Nov. 19 and encore at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 23 on Panhandle PBS.

Emotional, nostalgic, and (as always) filled to the brim with practical home cooking takeaway, this delicious hour of television features four brand-new recipe segments, new testimonials from every member of the cast (including four of the original Season 1 cast members), behind-the-scenes access to the series that reveals all-new sausage-making secrets, and playful archives from the show’s extensive 20-season catalog.

Over the past 20 years, America’s Test Kitchen has whisked nearly 4 million eggs, sifted through 52 thousand pounds of flour and cooked with over 2,500 pounds of garlic to perfect thousands of recipes that have helped shape the home cooking landscape today.

Its time-tested recipe development process involves a staff of 50-plus professional cooks and a vast network of volunteer home cooks–40,000 of them–who ground each America’s Test Kitchen recipe in the realities and palates of the home kitchen and what Americans want to cook and eat.

Chief Creative Officer Jack Bishop, who’s been with America’s Test Kitchen from the beginning, says those 40,000 home testers are an ingredient that makes America’s Test Kitchen special.

“We test and perfect like nobody else— every recipe, ingredient, technique and equipment — to help home cooks succeed,” Bishop said. “Our mission is to inspire confidence, community and creativity in the kitchen and, as home cooks grow increasingly ambitious in their kitchens, we are serving them like never before.”

America’s Test Kitchen airs at 12:30 p.m. Saturdays on Panhandle PBS, cable channel 2 or digital channel 2.1. It also airs at 7:30 and 11 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 p.m. Saturdays and 1:30 a.m. Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (subject to change) on Create TV, cable channel 125 or digital channel 2.3.
