Superpowers at Ama-Con

Panhandle PBS was delighted to take part in Amarillo Public Library's AMA-Con again this year by sharing three films for audiences to enjoy from the series Superheroes: A Never Ending Battle.  Hosted by Friends of the Amarillo Public Library, AMA-Con is an anime, comic, gaming and steampunk convention. This year it was held on Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2nd, 2015 at the Amarillo Civic Center.
 
Superheroes: A Never Ending Battle is a PBS series with three episodes: Truth, Justice, and the American Way (1938-1958)Great Power, Great Responsibility (1959-1977)A Hero Can Be Anyone (1978 - Present).
 
 
Produced by Ghostlight Films and hosted/narrated by Liev Shreiber, the series is the first documentary to examine the dawn of the comic book genre and its powerful legacy, as well as the evolution of the characters who leapt from the pages over the last 75 years and their ongoing worldwide cultural impact.
