Support Panhandle PBS During The Panhandle Gives
Hosted by the Amarillo Area Foundation, The Panhandle Gives is a nine-day charitable giving event that uplifts nonprofit organizations in the Texas Panhandle. This year, the campaign runs from November 24 to December 2, kicking off the Monday before Thanksgiving and wrapping up on Giving Tuesday, the global day of generosity. Participating organizations that raise at least $250 receive a percentage match from the Aplification Fund, maximizing the impact of every donation.
Our Goal
Panhandle PBS is actively fundraising to secure $70,000 through the Panhandle Gives Campaign to implement and support a rollout of the next-generation Texas PBS App.
The Texas PBS app is a multi-platform streaming solution engineered for statewide coverage with local station customization. The app supports smart TVs, OTT devices including Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, iOS and Android mobile devices, and web browsers. It allows viewers to select Panhandle PBS as their preferred local station, stream locally produced programming on demand, receive member communications, and perform in-app donations. This digital platform is key to expanding the station's membership model and selling promotional advertising offsetting the decline in traditional revenues. Federal public media funding has ended, placing the financial viability of stations like Panhandle PBS at risk. The Texas PBS app enables local stations to maintain full control over branding, programming schedules, and fundraising.
This innovative initiative is crucial for us to continue serving the Texas Panhandle as we have since 1988. Help us build the future of public media in the Texas Panhandle and across the state. Will you commit to donating during The Panhandle Gives Campaign, running November 24 – December 2?
