Nearly a dozen restaurants and bakeries will provide food to pair with offerings from about 10 different wineries and labels at the annual Wine Down & Dessert Wars on Thursday.

The party runs from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday in the Rex Baxter Building on the Amarillo Tri-State Fairgrounds, 3301 S.E. 10th Ave. Tickets are $15 in advance at Taste Dessert Bar, 1909 S. Georgia St., or $20 at the event. Advance tickets also are available at tastedessert.com.

"The Wine Down & Dessert Wars is an evening that you gather your friends for wines, desserts and entertainment plus bonus on special boutiques, restaurants  and other lifestyle businesses," said Jenelle Diggs of Townsquare Media, which hosts the event. "This night will be a night of dancing, sampling and eating."

The first 300 patrons will receive a souvenir wine glass from Marble Depot and Silverland's Hallmark.

Participating restaurants and bakeries include Taste Dessert Bar, United Supermarkets, Imperial Taproom, The Ruffled Cup, Scratch Made Bakery & Cafe, 575 Pizzeria and Cowboy Gelato. They'll vie for a people's choice award, voted upon by attendees, and a judge's choice award, voted on by a panel of five jurors.

Also providing food are Casanova Catering, Fire Slice Pizzeria and Pescaraz.

The Wine Group will provide Cupcake Moscato d'Asti, Prosecco, Red Velvet and Moscato Still Wine. Llano Estacado will provide moscato and red made to honor United's 100th anniversary.
