Thousands of car enthusiasts are expected to gather this weekend for the 33rd annual Make-A-Wish Car Show.

The event— technically named the Panhandle Council of Car Clubs Car Show, named for its organizer — runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday in the Amarillo Civic Center Complex, 401 S. Buchanan St.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children. Proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish North Texas in Amarillo.

More than 11,000 people attend the event to see nearly 400 cars.

“Car styles change every year. There are so many new styles this year. It’s always nice to see the new styles from year to year while helping out a great organization at the same time,” event organizer Barry Henson said in a news release.

For information, call Henson at 806-358-9900.

When driving to the Civic Center, remember the ongoing construction on Buchanan Street and either allow more driving time or take an alternative route.
