See where all of your favorite Amarillo and touring musicians are playing this weekend and in the week ahead, plus see what's on tap for the annual SXSWhat? music festival, now stretching to three venues.

 

SXSWhat?

As bands from around the country converge on Austin for the annual South by Southwest Music Festival, dozens of them travel through Amarillo on their way to or from the fest.

The 806 Coffee + Lounge, 2812 S.W. Sixth Ave., has taken advantage of that for the past several years by setting up its own festival, SXSWhat?, offering indie bands a gig on their way through town. Now, the festival is expanding to include Golden Light Cantina, 2908 S.W. Sixth Ave., and Leftwoods, 2511 S.W. Sixth Ave., with shows stretching through most of the month.

To encourage foot traffic between The 806 and the Golden Light, attendees can exchange their coffee sleeve from The 806 for a free draft beer at Golden Light, or trade a Golden Light sticker for a drink at The 806. Meanwhile, Leftwoods will offer $20 badges for admission to all of its SXSWhat? shows through March 22. 

Shows are free at The 806, but donations are accepted. Cover charges vary at Golden Light Cantina, and shows are generally $5 at Leftwoods.
