Music highlights for the weekend and beyond include the return of Cooder Graw and a concert by Nashville's best musicians, plus blues, rock, Texas country, punk, Tejano and more.

 

Acapulco Mexican Restaurant

El Trio Cortez will perform at 7 p.m. today at the downtown restaurant, 727 S. Polk St.

 

Amarillo Botanical Gardens

The Music in the Gardens series continues with folk singer Yvonne Perea at 7 p.m. July 28; doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is $10 for nonmembers and $5 for members.

 

Austin’s Texas Pub

The bar, 3121 S.W. Sixth Ave., will feature an acoustic set by Amarillo singer-songwriter Clark Griffin at 10 p.m. today; cover is $5. Dave Regal & The Long Ride Home will perform at 10 p.m. Saturday; cover is $5.

 

The Big Texan Steak Ranch

Amarillo bluesman Stew Moss will perform at 7 p.m. today at the restaurant, 7701 E. Interstate 40.

 

Bracero’s

Pete Y Los Releros will perform at 6:30 p.m. today at the restaurant, 2822 S.W. Sixth Ave. Jackie Haney plays at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays.

 

Broken Spoke Lounge

Amarillo rock band Kilo Road will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday at the bar, 3101 S.W. Sixth Ave.

 

Buffalo's Southwest Cafe

Singer-songwriter Tyler Higgins will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday at the cafe, 2811 Fourth Ave. in Canyon.

 

Burger Bar

Amarillo band Danny Freeze & The Earthlings will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the restaurant, 614 S. Polk St.

 

Butler's Martini Bar

Marcus & Friends will perform at 9:30 p.m. today at the bar, 703 S. Polk St. Then, Lubbock country act The Justin Kemp Band will perform at 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

 

The 806

The coffee shop, 2812 S.W. Sixth Ave., will host folk artist D.B. Rouse at 9 p.m. Wednesday and Americana band Nick & The Ovorols at 9 p.m. July 28. Shows are free, but donations are accepted.

 

Fibonacci Space

Pianist Denise Parr-Scanlin will perform in an evening for Chamber Music Amarillo that begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and also features desserts, coffee and wine. Admission is $50. Call 806-236-3545 for reservations.

 

575 Pizzeria

Folk singer Andy Chase performs at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the local pizza franchise’s original location, 2803 Civic Circle.

 

La Frontera

Los Cuatros Compadres will perform at 6:30 p.m. today at the restaurant, 1401 S. Arthur St.

 

Gerb’s Wurst Bar

Next to Kin will perform at 8:30 p.m. today at the bar and restaurant, 7145 S. Bell St.

 

Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts

The Time Jumpers — a collection of Nashville session musicians and stars like Vince Gill, Ranger Doug Green and Kenny Sears — will perform at 7:30 p.m. today at the center, 500 S. Van Buren St. Tickets are $35 to $55, plus fees; call 806-378-3096 or visit PanhandleTickets.

 

Golden Light Cantina

Austin band Velcro Fly — featuring George DeVore, Mike Bernal, Naj Conklin and Jorge Castillo — will perform at 10 p.m. today at the cantina, 2906 S.W. Sixth Ave.; cover is $8. Amarillo country band Agave Posse will celebrate National Tequila Day at 10 p.m. Saturday; cover is $8. Americana singer Houston Marchman perform at 5 p.m. Sunday for the bar's Sunday Soundcheck series; cover is $8. And The Corey Hunt Band will perform at 10 p.m. July 28; cover is $8.

 

Guitars & Cadillacs

Amarillo favorites Cooder Graw will continue the rollout of its long-awaited new album, Love to Live By, with a 10 p.m. show today at Guitars & Cadillacs, 3601 Olsen Blvd. Cover is $12 in advance or $14 at the door, or $16 for ages 18 to 20. High Noon on the Square

Center City of Amarillo's summer series continues at noon Wednesday with a performance by Velvet Funk on the lawn of the Potter County Courthouse, Sixth Avenue and Tyler Street in downtown Amarillo. Lunch service begins at 11:45 a.m. with wraps from Midtown Kitchen; lunch is $8, but the performance is free.

 

Hoots Pub

The bar, 2424 Hobbs Road, is temporarily closed for remodeling, owner Casey Berry said. It reopens with a 10 p.m. July 28 concert by Marty Stuart, featuring opening act The Randall King Band. Tickets are $30.

 

Joe Daddy’s

Folk singer Tennessee Tuckness and friends will perform at 8 p.m. today at the restaurant, 2108 Paramount Blvd.

 

Joe Taco

Music on the patio at the Mexican eatery, 7312 Wallace Blvd., will include Anderson, Flesher & Key at 7 p.m. Saturday, Shane Rogers from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Maggie Burt at 6 p.m. Wednesday and Jason Hodges at 6 p.m. July 21.

 

Leftwoods

Zolopht will perform with DJ Giant at 10 p.m. Saturday at the bar, 2511 S.W. Sixth Ave. Cover is $6.

 

Midnight Rodeo

Texas country star William Clark Green will perform at 9 p.m. today at the bar, 4400 S. Georgia St.; cover is $18 day of show. The Amarillo Live! concert series continues with an EP release party for Amarillo country band Shotgun Rider at 9 p.m. Saturday; cover is $10 for ages 21 and older or $12 for ages 18 to 20.

 

Napoli’s Italian Restaurant

Andy Chase will play around 7 p.m. today on the patio of the restaurant, 700 S. Taylor St., followed at 7 p.m. Saturday by James Owens.

 

Pescarez

Folk singer Mike Fuller will perform at 6:30 p.m. today at the restaurant, 3415 S. Bell St., Suite K, followed by Tennessee Tuckness at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

 

Ranch House Bar

Touring bluesman Big Daddy T will perform at 9 p.m. today at the bar, 7117 River Road; the show's free.

 

Rounders Club

Singers Brian Wynne and Adam Greenwood will swap songs at 9 p.m. today at the bar, 2801 Virginia Circle; the show is free. Amarillo punk band The Bastard Sons of David Hasselhoff will perform their off-kilter versions of pop songs at 9:30 p.m. Saturday; cover is $5. Plus, Amarillo guitarist Gabe Marinez will perform at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

 

6th Street Saloon

 

Amarillo country band Midnight Express. will play at 9 p.m. today and Saturday at the bar, 609 S. Independence St. Cover is $5 for guys and free for women.

 

Smokey Joe’s

Amarillo band Kilo Road will perform at 8 p.m. today at the restaurant, 2903 S.W. Sixth Ave. Then, it's a blues weekend with Blues Boy Willie, Johnny Reverb Holston, Marc Durham and Jay Weeks at 8 p.m. Saturday and touring bluesman Big Daddy T performing at a 2 p.m. Sunday open jam. There's no cover charge for any show.

 

Skooterz

Lindi Willis & Wrectifyd will play at 10 p.m. today at the bar, 4100 Bushland Blvd., followed by Loaded Six at 10 p.m. Saturday. Cover is $5 each night.

 

Starlight Theatre

Amarillo band Just 2 Guys will headline the latest in this year's series from Amarillo Parks and Recreation. The band will kick off at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Sam Houston Park, Line Avenue and Western Street. Admission is free.

 

Taqueria El Tapatio

Singer Victor Gallegos will perform at 6 p.m. at the restaurant, 3410 S. Coulter St.

 

Throwbacks

Amarillo rockers Sativa will perform at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the bar, 7150 S. Bell St. Amarillo country singer Buster Bledsoe will perform at 9 p.m. Tuesday, and Amarillo country band Shotgun Rider will perform at 9 p.m. Wednesday. No cover for any night.

 

The Western Horseman Club

The Rusty Cooper Band will perform at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the club, 2501 E. Interstate 40. Cover is $5 for men, free for women.

 

Whiskey River

Lubbock country act The Justin Kemp Band will play at 10 p.m. today at the bar, 4001 S.W. 51st Ave., followed by Amarillo's Lee Scheetz & Borderline at 10 p.m. Saturday. Cover is $7 or two for $10.

 

Zombiez Bar & Grill

Oklahoma rock band Ragland will perform at 10 p.m. today at the bar, 711 S.W. 10th Ave.; cover is $2.

 

Open mics

Lucid Moment will host jam nights at 7 p.m. Sundays around the fire pit at Mac Daddy's, 1221 S.W. 10th Ave. ... Maggie Burt hosts an open jam at 9 p.m. Tuesdays at Hoot’s Pub. ... Thomas Thompson hosts an open-mic night at 9 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at The 806, 2812 S.W.
