Harpist to close out FASO season

Acclaimed harpist Katherine Siochi will close out the 2016-17 Friends of Aeolian-Skinner Opus 1024 season Sunday.

Siochi, the 2016 gold medalist of the 10th USA Internation Harp Competition, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1601 S. Georgia St. Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for students. Call 806-376-6316, ext. 105

Siochi, at only age 22, has performed in major venues such as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher/David Geffen Hall, Alice Tully Hall and the Harris Theatre in Chicago. She has played with the Julliard Orchestra, New Julliard Ensemble, the New York Philharmonic, New World Symphony and others.

She has appeared twice on NPR's From the Top, and her solo performances were recently featured on New York Public Radio's Young Artist Showcase.

Siochi also will perform an educational concert for area students to be livestreamed from the church at 10 a.m. Monday, which we'll livestream here.

In addition, FASO will feature Mary Jane Jonson, Sandy Storey, RnR Fusion and Jim Gardner in a fundraising concert and dinner at 6:30 p.m. April 27 at the church. Tickets are $35. Call 806-376-6316, Ext. 105.

FASO's 2017-18 season, which was recently announced, will feature organist Hector Olivera on Sept. 10, tenor Eric Barry on Oct. 8, organist Monica Czausz on Jan. 28, and organ duo The Chenaults on April 22.
