The Don Harrington Discovery Center will offer an evening of Jenga, Lite Brite and Twister — but the real twist is that it's a no-kids-allowed night of grown-up fun.

The center's Game Night AfterDark event — set for 7 p.m. Friday at the center, 1200 Streit Drive — will encourage adults to explore science via life-sized games and other activities.

"I think it'll be a great event. It's always fun for adults to be kids at heart," said Aaron Pan, the DHDC executive director. "Summertime is the best time to have fun and play games."

Admission is $40 for members and $50 for nonmembers, and proceeds benefit the center's educational programs and exhibits.

During the evening, attendees can play giant versions of Jenga, Kerplunk, Soccer Billiards, Tic-Tac-Toe and Lite Bright; challenge each other in beer pong and limbo games; play yard games like cornhole and ladderball; hop on a giant, inflatable version of Twister; play a hybrid of Musical Chairs and Candyland; and more.

The party also will feature beer and a specialty cocktail; a slider bar with pulled pork and fried chicken sandwiches and sides designed by Chef Bud Andersen; and more.
