Describe your sound
I think it is a blend of the American Primitive guitar style of artist like John Fahey and Robbie Basho mixed with the more noisy experimental sounds of bands like Faust and This Heat.
What artists have inspired you?
John Fahey was the one who inspired be to pick up the acoustic guitar but artist like William Basinski and Aaron Dilloway made me want to explore the darker sounds of tape manipulation and drones.
When did you know you were meant to be a musician?
I was around 11 years old just listening to music with my mom. I felt like I could access any part of the world with it if used it the right way.
What other projects/bands have you been a part of?
I am currently playing lead guitar in the band Western Plaza who recently got with Burger Records. We are releasing our debut album on Burger Records January 2015.
Any plans for a new album?
I am releasing my next album on Tompkins Square Records next year and I am currently working on an album with Scott Hirsch of Hiss Golden Messenger.
