"Two for the Road" returns Oct. 3.

The international travel and adventure show Two for the Road, produced and hosted by Panhandle residents Nikki and Dusty Green, will return Oct. 3 on Panhandle PBS.

The series will air at 8 p.m. Thursdays, encoring at 1 a.m. Saturdays.

The new season of the three-time Lone Star Emmy nominated show follows the Greens and their adventures around the world, this time as they explore more than a dozen countries across four continents, including Bolivia, Iceland, Vietnam, the Galapagos Islands, Ireland and more.

The 13 new episodes will begin running on PBS stations nationwide in early October as well. The new episodes will begin airing on Create TV in 2020.

Panhandle PBS will host a preview party at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 26 in its studios, 2408 S. Jackson St. Fans can meet the Greens and enjoy cocktails and clips from the new season.

“We are incredibly proud and excited to finally get season three out there,” Dusty Green said. “We’ve been blessed to be able to visit and film in some truly spectacular places for this new season. And a lot of really amazing places in fact that a lot of folks might not be familiar with, or have ever heard about. It’s all coming together really beautifully and we can’t wait for folks to see it.”

The Greens, who continue to shoot, produce and edit the series entirely on their own out of their home studio in Howardwick, say they also hope that viewers will notice a few key differences in the new season from the past two seasons, like overall improvements in production and a greater focus on storytelling.

“Yes, one thing that’s different about this new season is that we hope viewers will notice more of a focus on storytelling,” Nikki Green said. “In the past two seasons there’s been a lot of adrenaline for sure. And there’s still plenty of adventure in the new season too, but this time we wanted to focus more on these really touching stories and these fascinating people that we’re meeting.”

Panhandle PBS is the presenting station for the series, which is available in more than 90 percent of the country on PBS stations and Create TV.

“We couldn’t be happier to work with Nikki and Dusty,” said Kyle Arrant, Panhandle PBS director of operations. “Their sensational series is a cornerstone of our Thursday-night programming, and it’s a thrill to see two Panhandle natives making their mark on a global basis.”

Panhandle PBS can be watched on Suddenlink Channel 3 and over the air on Channel 2.1. Create TV can be watched on Suddenlink Channel 125 and over the air on Channel 2.3.
