A special Mannheim Steamroller concert will air as a pledge event.

It’s Christmas in the summertime as Panhandle PBS airs a special Mannheim Steamroller event.

Mannheim Steamroller 30/40 Live will air at 7 p.m. June 2 and midnight June 4.

As a special, one-off pledge event, the broadcast will offer viewers the chance to buy tickets and meet-and-greet passes for Mannheim’s 7:30 p.m. Nov. 27 concert in the Amarillo Civic Center Complex Auditorium, 401 S. Buchanan St.

Tickets will be available to Panhandle PBS viewers for $60 each. The purchase of a pair of tickets for $120 will automatically make the buyers Passport-level members, which allows access to PBS’s on-demand video library, as well as other benefits.

Mannheim Steamroller 30/40 Live celebrates 30 years of musical holiday and 40 years of groundbreaking Fresh Aire compositions in one milestone special.

The program was captured in high definition and recorded in surround sound over two evenings at the Orpheum Theater in Omaha, Neb., hometown of Mannheim Steamroller.

The broadcast features songs from the group’s ever-popular annual Christmas tour, including the iconic “Deck The Halls” arrangement by Chip Davis and perennial favorite “Silent Night.”

A special performance of “Greensleeves” features Elyse Davis, Chip’ daughter.

New performances from the Fresh Aire series also are part of the broadcast.

As always, pledge specials are an opportunity for viewers to join Panhandle PBS as a member, renew their existing membership or become a sustaining member. Support from viewers like you help us provide programming and events all year.
