Panhandle PBS will air the second of three debates in the hotly contested U.S. Senate race in Texas.

The second debate between U.S. Sen Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and challenger U.S. Rep Beto O’Rourke (D-El Paso) will air live at 6 p.m. Sunday on Panhandle PBS as well as many other PBS stations around the state.

Cruz and O’Rourke will discuss domestic policy in a town-hall debate to be held at the Univesity of Houston.

Future debates will include a moderated half-domestic, half-foreign policy debate Oct. 16 in San Antonio.

Friday’s gubernatorial debate between Gov. Greg Abbott and Lupe Valdez will not air on Panhandle PBS.

Previously scheduled episodes of Waiting for God will air at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 30 and As Time Goes By at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 7.

Panhandle PBS can be watched on cable channel 3 or over-the-air channel 2.1.
