WT grad goes abroad to teach her second language

Veronica Carrillo heads to Japan this summer to begin at least a year-long assignment teaching English through the Japan Exchange and Teaching, or JET, program.

The West Texas A&M University graduate student has always had a hankering for travel. She has studied abroad in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and China, and has taught English in Spain.

Carrillo herself learned English as a second language and said she can relate with her students' approach to the language for the first time. Here's her story:
