The Don Harrington Discovery Center now has the ability to take some of its intriguing shows and exhibits on the road.

The Discovery Center this week unveiled its new "Roaming Educator," which will transport such hands-on museum experiments as creating hydrogen fuel cells, magic tricks, cow eye dissections and other interactive science tools to students across the 26-county Texas Panhandle region who may be too far away to regularly visit the center in Amarillo.

The vehicle complements DHDC's distance learning program, which involves museum staff teaching lessons via livestream, and the 45-minute and 60-minute shows staff perform during school visits.

Texas Dodge, All-Start Dodge, Amarillo Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodntics, KAMR and FOX 14 are the Roaming Educator's sponsors.

For more information on the Roaming Educator Vehicle program, contact DHDC at (806) 355-9547.
