Four high school seniors have been named Students of Integrity, an annual honor given out by the Better Business Bureau of Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle.

The Student of Integrity contest consists of a 1,000-word essay about academics, leadership responsibilities, community service, and integrity at home, church and work. Winners are chosen who "personify ethics in all areas of their lives," according to a BBB statement and receive a $2,000 scholarship.

"These students know that doing the right thing is important and trust and honesty do matter," BBB Executive Director and CEO Janna Kiehl said in a statement. "Students of Integrity strive to be trustworthy in all areas of their lives and they succeed with hard work and positive attitudes."

This year's winners are:

  • Jacob Gibbs, Bushland High School
  • Abby Danielle Schmucker, Nazareth High School
  • Taylor Ashlyn Stallings, Friona High School
  • Madison Elizabeth Woods, Higgins High School
