Amarillo businesses hope to put their best foot forward Thursday at the 24th annual BusinessConnection trade show.

The event, held by the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, will feature booths from 350 businesses and organizations, allowing them to promote products and services to an estimated 5,000 visitors at the show. Booths will be set up in the North and South Exhibit Halls and Heritage Ballroom in the Amarillo Civic Center Complex, 401 S. Buchanan St.

Though the chamber sponsors several networking events annually, BusinessConnection is special, said Jason Harrison, vice president of business development and governmental affairs.

"It is the one event in all of Amarillo and the Panhandle where businesses are able to do business with one another," Harrison said. "(At BusinessConnection), they're trading ideas and literature about (services) they have.

"That's what's really unique about it," Harrison said. "It's restaurants, banks, big businesses like Pantex, small mom and pops — just about all industries out there."

Admission is free with a VIP ticket or with a business card between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday. The general public can attend from 1 to 4 p.m. for $5. VIP tickets are available at the chamber office, 1000 S. Polk St., through Wednesday.

Lunch will be served in a food court in the Regency Room betwen 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 through Wednesday or $15 the day of the event. Twenty restaurants and caterers will provide food.
