FASO featuring Multi-Instrumentalist Todd Green
Watch the multi-instrumentalist, Todd Green, perform for school children in Amarillo Texas at Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts.
Multi-instrumentalist Todd Green held more than 1,200 elementary-school students in thrall Wednesday morning with the help of some drums, flutes and a whole lot of magic.
Green will be the featured performer for Friends of Aeolian Skinner, Opus 1024’s latest concert, set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1601 S. Georgia St.
But before that concert for the public, Green gave a demonstration of his wide-ranging musical talents before area and city students in the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts and, thanks to Panhandle PBS, to youngsters in their own classrooms all across the region.
Green worked his way through more than 20 instruments for the kids, including a variety of stringed instruments from all around the world, various percussion instruments and even a handful of flutes. He explained the derivation of each and how they resemble and differ from Western instruments.
Watch the Wednesday morning performance below.
He’ll play even more – some 30 or so – at his concert at St. Andrew’s, which should display his facility for various world music styles and even some down-home blues.
Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for children.
