Philosophy on Art:

Visual imagery, no matter whether it is a still image or moving image, is part of our collective heritage and expression.  I have been blessed to find a visual vocabulary that challenges and excites me.

Are you an art creator or an art producer? Or, do you see a difference between the two?

I am usually an art creator when I work in my own creative world in isolation and then present the work to the world.  But lately I’ve been honored to collaborate with some very talented people to produce work that has a life all its own…beyond my own creative control. I find both processes exciting.

Why do you do what you do?

I love to develop my ideas, design abilities, and techniques – it’s an ongoing process and always challenges me to improve my work. I also enjoy sharing my work with others and hopefully inspiring them in some way.

What kind of art attracts you?

I love art that has more than meets the eye and makes me wonder…and exciting visuals that leave me wanting more.

What is the question you never want to be asked regarding your art?

How long did that take?

How do you know when a piece/series is finished?

I use the intuition I have developed over the years to decide when a piece is finished.  For a series, it’s when the ideas dry up and I’m tempted to repeat myself.

If you could interview any artist (living or dead) who would it be?

It’s a toss-up between Giorgio de Chirico and Alfred Hitchcock because they created worlds of mystery and intrigue.
