Panhandle PBS and Amarillo Public Library to offer early screenings of the Masterpiece Classic Series, Downton Abbey

Panhandle PBS and Amarillo Public Library are partnering to offer "sneak peak" screenings of the first hour of the Downton Abbey, Season 4's first episode. The public may reserve attendance on either Thursday, December 12 at the Downtown Amarillo Public Library (413 E. 4th), or Friday, December 13 at Panhandle PBS (2408 S. Jackson.) Both events will feature a "Late Afternoon Tea" at 6:30 p.m. followed by a 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. screening.
Seating is limited. The public is encouraged to notify Panhandle PBS which evening they'd like to attend by calling 371-5222.
Panhandle PBS is delighted to partner with the Amarillo Public Library to provide this free "holiday treat" for Downton Abbey fans.
Downton Abbey on MASTERPIECE is the most-watched drama in PBS history. It enters its fourth gripping season with audiences waiting to learn how the beloved characters deal with a shocking tragedy. The acclaimed ensemble is back, together with returning guest star Academy Award-winner Shirley Maclaine, new guest star Paul Giamatti, and some other new cast members.
Written and created by Julian Fellowes, Downton Abbey, Season 4 is a Carnival/MASTERPIECE Co-Production. Carnival is a division of NBCUniversal International Television Production. The series' main accolades include nine Emmys, two Golden Globes and a Screen Actors Guild Award for the ensemble cast.
Season 4 will air over eight Sundays on Panhandle PBS, beginning with a two-hour premiere on January 5. The "sneak peak" screening events will allow local fans to view the first hour of the two-hour premiere.
